Getting Over It: “Embracing Forgiveness”

In Ephesians 4:32, Paul says that rather than holding on to anger, we should be kind, compassionate and forgiving toward those who have hurt us. That’s a lovely concept, but it’s not really meant to apply to your ex, or your nasty neighbor, or the friend that betrayed you, right? Releasing resentment and embracing forgiveness is more difficult when you put a face and a name on it, isn’t it? But in his second letter to Timothy, Paul gives us some specific examples from his own life about how he lived this out.
